Medical Standards

Candidates for admission to Sainik School should conform to the following medical standards:

VISUAL STANDARDS
(a) Distant Vision Better eye .. V-6/6 Worse eye .. V-6/9
(b) Near Vision N-5 Each eye Correctable to 6/6
(c) Colour Vision CPI (MLT)

1.Additional Medical Tests

  • Height and Weight as per age norms
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Pulse Rate and Blood Pressure
  • ENT Examination (Ear, Nose, Throat)
  • Dental Check-up
  • Skin and Scalp Inspection

2. Systemic Examination

  • Respiratory System (Lungs clear; no history of chronic asthma or TB)
  • Cardiovascular System (Normal heart sounds, no murmurs)
  • Abdomen (No organomegaly or hernia)
  • Central Nervous System (Reflexes normal, no neurological deficit)
  • Musculoskeletal System (Normal gait, spine, joints, no deformity)

3. Laboratory Investigations

  • Hemogram (Complete Blood Count)
  • Blood Grouping & Rh typing
  • Urine Routine & Microscopy
  • Blood Sugar (Fasting)
  • Chest X-ray
  • ECG (if required)

4. Special Considerations

  • No flat foot or knock knees
  • No significant visual or hearing impairment
  • No speech defect (like stammering)
  • No past history of epilepsy, enuresis (bedwetting), psychiatric disorder

5. Immunization Record

  • BCG
  • DPT
  • OPV/IPV
  • Hepatitis B
  • MMR
  • Typhoid
  • COVID-19 (if age-eligible)

The candidate is found Medically FIT / UNFIT for admission to Sainik School based on the above criteria.
